Egypt - country located in North Africa. The country is bounded on the north Mediterranean coast, southern borders with Sudan and Libya to the west and the east the boundary follows the coastline of the Red Sea and overland to Israel. The River Nile divides the country into two unequal parts, while the Suez Canal separates Egypt from the Sinai Peninsula.
Within the Nile Valley and its delta is fertile land with abundant vegetation, which are more than 90 percent of the population. Rest of the landscape - mostly monotonous desert, devoid of vegetation, except for the few remaining oases. People settle for the narrow strips of the Mediterranean coast and on the African Red Sea coast.
The coast south of the Suez Canal has a beautiful beach and coastal coral reefs attract many divers. High Dam at Aswan is now kept under the control of the annual floods that once filled much of the valley of the Nile: The dam also provides electricity in the region.
The structure also includes Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
