Banks and currency exchange operate on weekdays from 8.30 to 15.00, some bank branches in Lisbon and the tourist areas are closed at 18.00, and in the Algarve major shopping centers are open daily from 9.00 am to 21.00. ATMs national system "MULTIBANCO" operate around the clock.

Shops are open on weekdays from 9.00 to 19.00, break - from 13.00 to 15.00. On Saturday shops close at 13.00 (in December - 19.00). Some shopping centers in resort areas are open from 10.00 to 24.00. Most shops in Madeira operates on weekdays from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 19.00, and on Saturdays - just before lunch.
