Town Dzhemete located in the center of Pioneer Avenue. After the liberation of the Black Sea from the Turks, and the completion of the Caucasian War (1864) Dzhemete became personal name of the first chief of the Black Sea Region - Dmitry Vasilyevich Pilenko. District includes the territory of the coast from Anapa to Adler, it was composed of three divisions: Novorossiysk, Velyaminovskaya (Tuapse) and Dahovsky (Sochi). But the choice Pilenko was in favor of the best land on the coast - Dzhemete.
