Bogoljubovo, Russia Village Bogoljubovo located 14 kilometers east of the city of Vladimir, on a hilly ridge along the old riverbed Klyazma. Grad Bogolyubov was the first stone city of Northern Russia, witnessed the rise, glory and the tragic death of one of the outstanding people of ancient Russia, Prince Andrew Bogolyubsky. It is here the prince brought a miraculous icon of the Mother of God, leaving the land without permission of Kiev, and then ferried it to Vladimir.
