City of Vladimir - an ancient Russian city with unique historical and architectural monuments. One of the most prominent of these are: The Assumption Cathedral (XII century.) - Is one of the oldest shrines in Russia. The lifetime is measured by its many centuries and is closely linked with the base of the city of Vladimir. The cathedral was laid in 1158. Today, in its central nave, under the dome, is the oldest part of the cathedral, built in the days of Andrew Bogolyubsky. The whole interior is permeated with light, and the arches and vaults, as it were floating in the air. In 1408 the church was painted brilliant painters of ancient Russia, Andrei Rublev and Daniel Chorny. Rublev's frescoes in Vladimir - outstanding works of ancient art, which reflected in the poetic images of extraordinary spiritual uplift of the Russian people after the victory at Kulikovo field. In the Assumption Church Knyaginin wonderful frescoes of the monastery survived the middle of XVII century.

The paintings cover the walls from top to bottom Demetrius Cathedral (XII century.), Golden Gate (XII century.) Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
