Just 30 minutes walk from Portoroz is a wonderful, fairy-tale town of Piran. The town's name derives from the Greek word "pyros" (fire) - is a reminder about the lights, ignite the sailors on the most dangerous rocks in the area of the city. Piran is known for its Venetian Gothic architecture, this city of Giuseppe Tartini, the famous Italian composer and violinist, whose monument adorns the central square of Piran.
