Description Palamos, Spain

Palamos - the small town grew up around the port, known since the time of the Sicilian war, occurred in the XIII century. Currently, fishing and pleasure port of Palamos is the second largest in the whole of Catalonia. And the longest beach and many tourist attractions concentrated in the area of La Fosco, provided Palamós glory of one of the best holiday resorts of the Costa Brava. In the old part of town is the Gothic Cathedral of St. Mary, built in the XV century.

Palamos - quite a large resort. Hotels here constitute whole neighborhoods on the coast and in the depths of the city. Wide sandy beaches, palm alleys and secluded coves attract many tourists.

Founded in 1277, Palamos to this day has managed to preserve the charm of bygone times and at the same time not lose their individuality. In the museum Cau de la Costa Brava are the collections of Iberian, Greek and Roman pottery. Now the city is the main center of the cork industry in Catalonia.
