To the south of Barcelona, near the ancient city of Tarragona, in one of the most beneficial climate zones located tourist capital of the Costa Dorada - Salou resort and is now one of the major tourist centers in Catalonia and throughout Spain. Historically significant as the port used by the Greeks and Romans, Salou was noted in an important historical event, when in 1229 the fleet of James I of Aragon made from the port to win the Balearic Islands.
