City of Chiang Rai is famous for its grandiose memorable holiday. Each year the Festival takes place in the winter King Mengraya - the founder of the city. In those days the streets are theatrical acts, various parades, competitions, sounds cheerful music, play in the sky all the colors of the rainbow fireworks.

In May, the traditional agricultural fair Lynch (as the name of a fruit), which bring together the most fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables, as well as national handicrafts.

New Year's Eve people of the region is celebrated April 16-18, then arranged Songkran Festival. Thais wear garlands of flowers and paint the face. New Year is celebrated in Chiang Rayet with great pomp.
