Laos Customs

Import and export of foreign currency is not limited (the sum of more than 2000 dollars in cash or Traveler's checks must be presented to customs officials when crossing the border and declare). Import and export of local currency is prohibited.

Allowed duty-free imports from countries that do not have common borders with Laos: cigarettes - 500 pcs., Or 100 cigars or 500 grams of tobacco, spirits - 1 bottle of wine - up to 2 bottles of personal valuables - up to 500 gr.

Forbidden to import weapons, explosives, toxic and flammable substances and narcotic drugs and tools for their manufacture. Prohibited the export of art objects and antiquities, which are a national treasure, Buddha images (allowed to export only souvenir options), weapons, explosives, and toxic and flammable substances, narcotics and money to produce them.
