Laos Medical aid

For a trip to Laos is officially not require any vaccinations. However, the whole Laos, with the exception of Vientiane and Luang Prabang, is an area with malaria risk, so before traveling to remote areas in the wet season it is desirable to take measures to prevent the disease. It is also recommended be vaccinated against hepatitis A and typhoid fever.

Health care in the country is developed at a very low level in some areas it is simply absent. Major cities have pharmacies. All treatment is paid in cash. In serious cases, assistance is provided in Thailand. Before the trip is recommended to formalize medical insurance.
