Thanks to its mild climate, beautiful scenery and an abundance of sun, many writers, artists and performers chosen Balearics for creativity in an atmosphere of calm. Santiago Rusinol Mallorca called 'Island of peace' - so reads the title of one of his works. In the 1950's and especially in the 1960's was the rapid development of tourism. In addition to the construction of hotels, created by sports ports, golf courses, the so-called agritourism centers, allowing a rest away from noise of cities ...

Despite the many facilities built in recent decades for visitors all year round tourists, on Balearic Islands has preserved many architectural monuments. In Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza there is evidence of different architectural traditions. At Mallorca, for example, houses reminiscent of the classical Roman era homes and whitewashed houses in the form of a cube in Ibiza reminded of the presence here of the Carthaginians, exotic homes which are very similar to the old quarters of cities in North Africa. Menorca same holds obvious traces of British rule (1713-1782).
