Thanks to its mild climate, beautiful scenery and an abundance of sun, many writers, artists and performers chosen Balearics for creativity in an atmosphere of calm. Despite the many facilities built in recent decades for visitors all year round tourists, on Balearic Islands has preserved many architectural monuments. In Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza there is evidence of different architectural traditions. At Mallorca, for example, houses reminiscent of the classical Roman era homes and whitewashed houses in the form of a cube in Ibiza reminded of the presence here of the Carthaginians, exotic homes which are very similar to the old quarters of cities in North Africa. Menorca same holds obvious traces of British rule (1713-1782).
