Population Saaremaa, Estonia

Saaremaa is home to about 36 thousand inhabitants, representing approximately 3% of the population of Estonia. Due to the isolation of the island of the demographic composition of its population has hardly changed over the period of Estonia to the USSR. 98% of the population are Estonians, 1.2% Russian, about 0.2% Ukrainians and Finns.
